July 21-23, 2023 Kulaman Baptist Church, Kulaman, Sultan Kudarat, Mindanao
These precious ones, which include several tribal pastors, have traversed mountains to be able to join our Inductive Bible Study held in the valley area at Kulaman, Sultan Kudarat, in the interiors of Mindanao.
One of the Manobo tribal pastors shared about how his desire to be equipped to share God’s Word has been met through his participation in this seminar. Now, he and his companions are all excited to go back to their churches and be more effective in teaching God’s Word. Coordinating the said seminar was Pastor Henry Olorosisimo, a long-time co-IBS trainer in Mindanao. Pastor Henry and I have been together conducting IBS seminars in Sabah, Malaysia, many years ago, thus it was such a blessing to be able to see him and serve with him in his church.
August 13-September 24, 2023 Federal State of Micronesia (Pacific Islands) - IBS Online via Zoom
In the months of August and September, I conducted my first online IBS seminar with about 20 participants composed of pastors and leaders coming from several Assembly of God churches from a group of islands in the Federal State of Micronesia. It was a blessing to be able to train these leaders from places I have never been. It was a great experience to utilize technology in conducting the said training.
The seminar was coordinated by Pastor Edper Castro, a former student at Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC) in Dumaguete. He currently works as an IT professional and as a pastor in Pohnpei, Federal State of Micronesia and was instrumental in facilitating our Zoom online training.
The whole level 1 seminar was conducted every Sunday afternoon (7 Sundays), a perfect set-up for all the participants as we were from 3 to 4 different time zones, and they also had the whole week to do each of the assignments. The participants did well learning the Inductive Bible study method, working really hard on each of the six assignments.
October 11-13, 2023 The Highland Harvest Chapel, Baguio City
I had the privilege of conducting another level 1 seminar at Highlands Harvest Chapel, Baguio City. It is being pastored by Pastor Andy Macasa, Jr., another former graduate of the Bible college (CCBC) in Dumaguete. When Pastor Andy was still a student, he used to join me in leading worship at our local Calvary Chapel, and it was a blessing seeing him now as the pastor of this local fellowship in Baguio City.
It was also a blessing to meet a long-time friend, Pastor Rene Tanjusay, who traveled several hours from Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, to join us in the Baguio seminar. Many years ago, Pastor Rene and I co-labored in bringing the IBS seminars to several Filipino tribes in Northern Luzon. Our sweet reunion rekindled our passion to revisit those tribal groups and continue what we had started years ago and at the same time train and equip the new generation of leaders whom the Lord had raised within their own tribal churches. Pastor Rene had recently retired from being a full-time missionary but is still with the New Tribes Missions Philippines.

For my upcoming IBS seminar this Nov 1-3, 2023, in Sta Cruz, Davao Del Sur, Mindanao. Coordinating the said seminar is another CCBC alumnus, Pastor Ryan Alanano. Prayer for safe travels and for a fruitful time of learning in His Word.
For wisdom as we plan for next year's IBS seminars in the different regions in the Philippines and also for the Lord’s provision for these seminars.
